Congregational Care at PCBW

The work of caring is the responsibility of the entire congregation.  However, we have several ministries that facilitate our sense of community and caring.

Hospitality Team   These ‘heavenly hostesses and hosts’ provide the refreshments after each of our worship services on Sundays.  In addition, they coordinate the all church picnic, our Christmas Hanging of the Greens and Chili Supper, and other special events as the need arises.

Congregational Meals    Four times each year, a group gathers in our restaurant quality kitchen to prepare meals for the congregation when emergencies arise.  This ministry puts food in the freezer that can be picked up at any time, providing delicious meals for individuals and families who have welcomed a new baby or faced a medical emergency.

Dinners for Eight  Several times each year, PCBW members and participants open their home and invite six other people to join them for a meal.  These special times of getting acquainted provide an opportunity to deepen relationships in a warm and welcoming environment.

Prayer Chain One of the most important ways we can support one another is through the ministry of prayer.  Our prayer chain is a twenty-four hour ministry of intercession for every kind of need and request.  Your request or participation is welcome.

The Agape Fund Four times each year, the congregation gives a special offering to meet the physical and financial needs of church members and people from the community facing financial hardship.  The funds pay rent, bills, purchase lodging, provide a brake job for a car or food for a family.  The ministry of this fund is overseen by two members of the congregation who meet personally with each person requesting assistance.

Moms in Touch This ministry if a group of mothers who meet weekly to pray for our children, their teachers and their schools.
