Church of the Big Wood Family,
It was a joy to gather with so many of you this past Sunday for worship! I’ve heard from many of you who were with us either live in the sanctuary or live online about how meaningful the service was to you as we focused our hearts on Jesus in praise, were challenged by the parable of the Good Samaritan, and were drawn close to God through the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.
We look forward to gathering again this coming Sunday. For those of you unable to join us or whose risk factors make coming in person unwise, we are continuing to live-stream the service so you will be able to join us online through our website or directly at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69imLubpZIg or on your smart TV through the Church of the Big Wood’s YouTube channel.
We are continuing to take these extra health precautions for those of you gathering live at church. Again, we know many of these things are inconvenient and even uncomfortable, but our current situation makes it important to embrace these as a way to live out Jesus’ call to “love our neighbors.”
Face coverings are be required (available at church if you need one), including during our singing, which studies point to as a higher risk activity for spreading the virus.
No-touch infrared thermometers continue to be used to check temperatures when they enter the building.
In order to help with social distancing of at least six feet, the pews in the sanctuary have been clearly marked with tape as to where to (and not to) sit.
In order to promote air circulation, will be having our doors open during service, so we encourage you to bring something warm in case the sanctuary is a bit chilly.
There continues to be no Sunday School and child care for at least a few more weeks; families are encouraged to sit together, and we will be providing activity bags for children.
We will not be passing plates for the offering. You are encouraged to give online through our website, or to drop a check in the offering plates on the tables at the back of each aisle.
Following the service, you are encouraged to greet each other outside, either on the patio area or in the parking lot.
See you on Sunday!
Peace,
Mark
