Join us at 12:00 PM to enjoy a day of fun and recreation at the valley's favorite getaway for the day on Saturday, June 27. Afternoon devotion is the perfect ending to this church-wide event in the scenic Sawtooths. Water crafts, paddle boards and kayaks are needed for this event.

Remarkable things happen when moms come together because mothering is so much easier when shared with other moms. Join us at CBW every Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM beginning on September 19 as we share our lives and parenting journeys together. Childcare is provided. You are invited! Starting this Sunday (Sept. 11) we are beginning our “Winter Focus Series entitled “Steps” for twelve weeks through our sermons on Sunday morning and our reading a book by the same name. We will explore the Christian origin of the recovery movements - 12 Steps and how they can help us in our spiritual growth whether or not we have an identifiable addiction.
Galena Day is Saturday, March 21 from 11am - 2pm.
This event is for all church families, BWS families, and anyone that you’d like to invite.
Coffee and hot cocoa will be available in the picnic area and we’ll be serving cups of soup from the lodge at 12pm!
This is a come-and-go-as-you-choose event so whether you stay all day or only for an hour or two, we hope that your family will join us for this fun day in the snow and sun.
Finally, don't forget your sleds, snowshoes, or skis. We hope you'll make plans now to join us! Reservations are not necessary.
Exploring Faith and the Church (New Members Class). Interested in exploring the Christian faith? Learning about Church of the Big Wood or joining as a member? Then please join us for dinner and a one evening class on Sunday, March 15, from 5:00 PM - 8:15 PM at The Commons, 131 N. Main St, Hailey.
For those of you with children, we are happy to reimburse for your childcare expenses.
Get ready for an amazing weekend in Alta, Wyoming! We will be skiing at Grand Targhee Resort February 13-16, 2026. Students will have an opportunity to ski both Saturday and Sunday. We will be staying at an Airbnb in Driggs, Idaho and will be making dinners together and gathering each evening for worship and Bible study.
Enjoy a special date night on us! The Family & Children's Ministry of Church of the Big Wood will be providing childcare for ages 3 years to 5th grade on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 5pm-8pm. WHEN: January 23rd 6:00pm - January 25th at noon We will depart on Friday night. We will arrive back at the church around 12:15pm for pick up.
WHERE: Camp Perkins located 45 minutes north of Ketchum in Stanley, Idaho. We will be staying in a retreat center with hotel style rooms each equipped with a bathroom.
Included in this packet are the forms needed for our Jr High Winter Retreat. Registration deadline (Forms completed and Full payment) due Sunday, January 4th!! No refunds will be given for cancellations within 48 hours of departure. This service is for children and children at heart, in a wonderful re-telling of the Christmas story and live nativity.
This is our traditional service of Carols and Readings.
The office will be closed on Wednesday, December 24 through Friday, December 26 for the Christmas Holidays.

It is that time of year again. We wanted to let you know we will be back ringing the bell for the local Salvation Army this holiday season. We will be at our traditional location in front of Atkinson's in Ketchum. We also have a new kettle location in Hailey in front of Albertson’s. We will have a third stand-alone kettle without a volunteer inside Starbucks in Ketchum.

Tubb's Berry Farm and Glow Games Laser Tag
1:30pm - 9:30pm
We will head south in the Youth Buses first to Glow Games Family Fun Center which has mini golf, arcade games and Laser Tag. We will spend a couple hours here, then head over to Tubb's Berry Farm which hosts an amazing array of fall fun. The farm has Apple Cannon shooters, a Huge Bounce pad, slides, mini golf, a paintball gallery and more. We plan be at the Berry Farm when it is just getting dark and youth will get to tackle the Giant Corn Maze with glow sticks.

FAMILY CAMP '25 | September 12-14, 2025
Save the Date! Family Camp is back this Fall for all families and all ages. This is an amazing weekend for our Big Wood families to enjoy time together at Camp Perkins in the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains. There is something for everyone. This year's cost is $40/person or $150max/family. You will not want to miss this weekend! Register your family now! (Retreat Center rooms are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis).
All of our out-of-town affiliates and participants are invited to join us for the Affiliates Dinner at Andy & Margaret Allen’s home (106 Canvas Back Lane in Starweather - Hailey, ID 83333).
It's a wonderful time to get to know others from around the country who make CBW their church home while in the valley.

Newsboys are a Christian Rock band founded in 1985 in Queensland, Australia, by Peter Furler and George Perdikis. Now based in Nashville, Tennessee, the band has released 17 studio albums, 6 of which have been certified gold.

Join Chip Booth, (guitarist in the CofBW praise band) and others members of the band on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month at the Commons for an evening of fun and music as we learn together how to play popular songs, folk music and more.
Our goal is to help musicians at various levels in their musical journey learn how to play together as a group, focusing on listening, timing and playing parts. All instruments as well as singers are welcome. Participants are encouraged to suggest songs they would like to play.
