

Fuel Youth Groups
All Ages Fuel Youth (6th-12th grade) group will meet on Sunday evenings from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM at the Church.
Junior High (6th-8th Grade) Grab your friends and join us on Sunday nights for games, Bible study, and plenty of food and snacks. 5:30pm - 7:30pm at the church.
High School (9th-12th Grade) Join us on Sunday nights. We will study the Bible and eat dinner, with plenty of time to hang, play games and serve the community with various mission projects. 5:30pm - 7:30pm at the church.

Fuel Youth Winter Retreat - Camp Perkins
WHO: Fuel Youth
COST: $150
WHEN: January 10th 4:00pm - January 12th at noon We will depart on Friday late afternoon and eat dinner at Camp Perkins Friday night. We will arrive back at the church around 12:15pm for pick up.
WHERE: Camp Perkins located 45 minutes north of Ketchum in Stanley, Idaho. We will be staying in a retreat center with hotel style rooms each equipped with a bathroom.
Included in this packet are the forms needed for our Winter Retreat. Registration deadline (Forms completed and Full payment) due Sunday, January 5th! No refunds will be given for cancellations within 48 hours of departure.

Youth Sunday
Plan to join us for Youth Sunday! The youth of our congregation will lead the service with a theme, readings, songs and a message. Youth Sunday is a unique opportunity for young people to focus on themes that are relevant to them, and to share their perspectives on a variety of topics.

Fuel Youth Fall Escape: Twin Falls, Idaho

$50 per person
We are tackling a huge corn maze, shooting apple cannons and trying our best to solve some crazy riddles to break out of an escape room on this trip. It's a great chance to bring friends and join in some fall fun outside the valley. Click here for more info and to sign up.

Senior High Backpacking Trip

Youth With A Mission or YWAM (pronounced why - wham) is coming to Church of the Big Wood! Do you long to follow Jesus? Fuel Youth are invited to join us as the YWAM discipleship team of college aged students lead us in two nights of worship, games, and first person testimonies. Don't miss this unforgettable experience.

Why here?
Keep Austin Weird. The City of Austin’s motto is lived out through its artistic culture and love of food trucks. But with any rapidly growing big city, there are also underserved neighborhoods. Through our local partnerships, students will learn how the church is responding to these needs in very real ways. Your team will serve in a variety of local ministries, ranging from a food pantry to a rescue mission. Students will also get the opportunity to explore Austin during our Mission Race and they’ll hike local outdoor adventure spots.
Ministry Outreach
Through our various partnerships, students will gain insight into what ministry in an urban environment really looks like. Opportunities include: soup kitchen, working at a neighborhood outreach center, and more.
Adventure Opportunities
Students will have the opportunity to explore downtown Austin during the Mission Race, explore local parks and conservatories, and go hiking.
Logistics
Weather: Summers are hot and temperatures frequently average 90°F.
Airport: Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
First Aid: Most LeaderTreks staff are First Aid and CPR certified. Please bring your own team first aid kit.
Typical Schedule

Senior High Ski Trip
Get ready for an amazing weekend in Alta, Wyoming! We will be skiing at Grand Targhee Resort February 17-20, 2023.
Students will have an opportunity to ski both Saturday and Sunday. The lift ticket includes Nordic skiing or Fat biking in place of skiing. There is a warming lodge, arcade and plenty of places to grab snacks during the day.
Grades 8-12 welcome.

Splash Bash
Join us for a day on the Salmon River! After a day of splashing through the rapids, we will head over to Camp Perkins for two great nights under the stars for this Fuel mountain summer getaway. This event is for Junior & Senior High Youth.
The Commons Hangout (Mon, Wed and Thu)
Calling all YOUTH!!! (middle - high school)
Drop by or come hangout with the youth leaders at THE COMMONS (south campus ministry of Church of the Big Wood) on Mondays (6-8pm), Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM unless otherwise noted. Study groups, use wifi, play foosball or drink some java with social distancing measures observed. Please wear your face coverings.

Grab your ugly Christmas sweaters and come out to the Commons for everything merry. We will have a fire on the KB's patio as well as food and a hot chocolate bar. White elephant gift exchange will start at 7pm. Bring a gift around $10 to participate.
Fuel Youth Christmas Open
The Christmas Open is a do-it-yourself miniature golf event, featuring some over-the-top Christmas decorations that even Buddy the Elf would be proud of. You'll get to flex some creative muscles as you build your own miniature golf courses with whatever items you can find in your storage closet and then play through the course with your friends. Each hole will be 6+ feet apart!

Junior High SnoJam Retreat
6th - 9th graders are invited to a winter retreat on January 10-12, 2020 at Camp Perkins LOM near Stanley, ID. Cost is $60 per youth; scholarships available upon request. Contact Mark Muller for information. RSVP by Friday, December 20 to markmueller@pcbw.org.

Mom's Retreat
Calling all moms! Our mom’s group will be taking some time to rest in God's word on November 15-16 at Banbury Hot Springs. Parenting with Love and Logic
Parents, please join us for a presentation on setting and enforcing limits with Kim Cross, a Love and Logic consultant. If you are experiencing challenges like disrespect, defiance and seemingly endless arguments with your child, know that there is hope! Kim’s coaching can help you solve these problems. Her sensible approach will give you the specific skills you need to calmly and effectively address existing issues as well as prevention of new ones.
